Ross' interior firm cuts staff, closes 2 plants.(Suppliers)

Slowing auto sales and internal consolidation have claimed 60 salaried jobs at International Automotive Components Group North America.

The company also has closed two plants in Quebec that make carpeting and acoustic materials, idling about 230 workers.

Investor Wilbur Ross created International Automotive Components in early 2007 by combining the interiors business of Lear Corp. with assets of defunct Collins & Aikman Corp.

The job reductions leave the company with about 1,000 salaried employees at the headquarters and other offices in suburban Detroit, spokesman David Ladd said.
