Subaru's 2009 Forester is bigger and more SUV-like than its predecessor. But the company didn't tamper much with a product that its owners loved - even if the shape remains unconventional.

The 2009 Forester will account for 25 to 30 percent of Subaru of America's growth this year, says Tom Doll, executive vice president. The next-generation Forester debuts in April. Prices haven't been announced but are expected to remain in the $21,000 to $29,000 range.
