IDC SAYS REVENUES FOR GROUPWARE AND LAN-BASED IOS SOFTWARE TO RISE
Users of groupware and LAN-based integrated office systems (IOS) software totaled over 1.5 million in 1990, and revenues from the sale of such products doubled from the prior year, surpassing $41 million.
According to a new report published by International Data Corp. (IDC), the market for groupware and LAN IOS is expected to grow at a 50 percent annual rate over the next five years, piggybacking the growth of LAN systems, as well as penetrating the existing LANs used for peripheral sharing. This translates into $320 million in total revenues for US vendors in 1995.
