BUY MAKES SMI SOLE SOURCE... Geographic Information System (GIS) software maker Strategic Mapping Inc. (SMI) of Santa Clara, Calif., has acquired Donnelley Marketing Information Services (DMIS), a unit of A.C. Nielsen Co., from The Dun & Bradstreet Corp. DMIS supplies demographic data for business analysis and target marketing.
D&B says it will retain an investment in SMI and continue to be one of its most important data suppliers.
