SkyTel and General Magic to give 'smart' features to wireless messaging.

Skytel Corp., the country's leading provider of nationwide paging and one-way wireless messaging services, says it is working with software maker General Magic Inc. "to make wireless communications a basic and easy-to-use feature of hand-held communicators and personal computers."
The two companies are joining forces to integrate the Skytel system with the Magic Cap software announced earlier this month (see Software -- Industry Report, Jan. 10, pg. 1). "Our work with General Magic will enable corporate travelers to link their mobile communicators with the SkyTel system," says David Garrison, president of SkyTel.
