CNT finalizes Brixton deal. (Computer Network Technology Corp.)(Mergers/Acquisitions/Alliances)

Software Industry Report, March, 1994

Computer Network Technology Corp. (CNT) has completed its merger of Brixton Systems Inc. into a newly formed subsidiary of CNT. CNT paid $14 million for Brixton, including $5.5 million in cash. Brixton of Cambridge, Mass., makes data/comm software designed to provide a smooth transition into open systems and client/server computing while preserving investments in SNA-oriented networks, equipment and training.

CNT President Mac Lewis says the merger "complements CNT's existing channel networking and high-performance hub product lines." CNT markets CHANNELink channel networking systems and UltraNet high-performance hubs.
