Software Industry Report, August, 1994
SEGA GETSPOPULAR GAME TOOL...Sega of America Inc. has acquired Cross Products Limited of Leeds, England, a leader in video game programming. Sega says the acquisition gives it "the highest quality tools that will facilitate software development for new Sega video game systems" by speeding up development and allowing game developers to focus more on creativity and less on technical programming.
Sega bought all of the company's assets and hired its employees for an undisclosed sum. Cross Products makes the number one development tool for all video game systems -- SNASM. Under terms of the deal, SNASM will be marketed under the Cross Products name and will continue supporting the hardware platforms it currently supports.
