Software Industry Report, December, 1995
Japan's Software Research Associates (SRA) has reached a deal with Network Computing Devices subsidiary NCD Software Corp. to resell a localized version of Mariner, NCD's new Windows-based intelligent Internet organizer and browser, in Japan. Terms include an upfront pay merit of $290,000 plus royal ties.
"SRA selected Mariner over the competition because of its unique features," says Mike Harrigan, NCD's vice president of marketing. "Thanks to this agreement, Mariner stands to gain a dominant position in Japan's Internet market." The intelligent Internet organizer permits users to gather and share Internet-based information. Features include the ability to organize by subject regardless of the source, and to build a personal roadmap of the user's Internet exploration.
