Kleiner Perkins Java Fund closes financing deal with Intraware. (Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers)

Orinda, Calif.-based Intraware says it has closed a new round of financing with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) to become the newest member of the Java Fund. The funding means KPCB considers Intraware the leading resource for "best-of-breed" intranet software solutions and services, says CEO Peter Jackson. According to Jackson, Intraware's growth track for 1998 includes entering global markets in support of current strategic partners. The company just inked an agreement with Netscape Communications, for example, to support Netscape's international customers with Intraware's proprietary VirtualExpress delivery and deployment system, and SubscribNet, a pro-active software update notification service.
