Oracle, Windows NT Skills Are Those Most In Demand
A network administrator with Cisco or Windows NT skills or a senior database analyst with Oracle skills is sitting in the catbird seat when negotiating a job offer today. Because of their "hot skills," they are likely to demand a signing bonus, as well as a hefty compensation premium in order to be lured from their current position.
A new Hay Group survey finds that the prevalence of sign-on bonuses is increasing rapidly. "Sign-on bonuses are becoming almost an expectation on the part of candidates," says Linda Pittenger, managing director of Hay's IT Consulting Practice.
