Swiss electricity price index.

For the first time, a wholesale price index for electricity will be published on the European Continent. Switzerland's two leading electricity trading firms, Aare-Tessin AG fur Elektrizitat and Elektrizitats-Gesellschaft Laufenburg AG, in cooperation with Dow Jones, will publish a daily Swiss Electricity Price Index as from mid-March.

SWEP represents all the electricity transactions completed in the course of one day on the Swiss spot market, the wholesale market for electric energy. SWEP will be published on working days only, and includes all short-term electricity transactions performed by Atel and EGL with a minimum duration of one hour and a maximum duration of 24 hours. SWEP is a numerical value in Swiss Francs per MWh, and is also available in Ecu and US$....
