Nuclear energy study. (assessment of the state of nuclear power and its environmental impact)

Energy Report, July, 1998

In the light of recent commitments to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, The Royal Society and The Royal Academy of Engineering have launched a Nuclear Energy Study. This aims to examine the current state of nuclear power and to assess the contribution nuclear power and other sources of energy could make to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Nuclear Energy Working Group is due to report to the Councils of The Royal Society and The Royal Academy of Engineering in December 1998, with the final report appearing in 1999.
