The University of Cambridge Programme for Industry is one again organising a number of professional development short courses, seminar and workshops throughout 1998. For one of these, the CUEA Conference on Engineering, Energy and Sustainability, the University says that there is now a broad consensus that we are overwhelming our planet's capacity to provide for our needs and to absorb our wastes, and the issue of sustainable development has been climbing the agenda of governments, industry and academia for some years.
