For practitioners involved in the banking industry, the American Bankers Association (Washington, D.c.) has begun the production of the Bankers Electric Network, a new closed electronic information system. The new service is free until June 30. After that, subscribers will pay $179 a year for two hours of connect time a month. Each additional hour will cost $2.95.
Targeted to executives at ABA member banks and related banking professionals, the news and information service is designed to link members of both the ABA and state banking groups and allow them to "do anything with us ...they could do verbally," ABA said.
Content on the service currently includes state banking association's bulletins to members for all 50 states, proposed legislative bills and...
