In related news, legal information publisher Oasis Publishing Co. (Lincoln, NE) is suing the West Group (Eagan,
MN) in the Eighth Circuit Court. Oasis seeks a declaration that West cannot legitimately claim copyright protection in the page numbers of books published by West, which books contain Florida's court decisions. Similar issues have been recently addressed by the Southern District of New York and by the D.C. District Court during the West-Thomson Corp. merger proceedings.
