LEXIS-NEXIS LAUNCHES CITE-CHECKING TOOL, "CHECKCITE 2000".

Lexis-Nexis (Dayton, OH) will launch CheckCite 2000, a new software package that checks the accuracy and legal standing of citations in briefs and related documents, beginning this summer. Normal cite-checking charges will apply based on individual customer subscriptions.

Replacing the company's current cite- check product, CheckCite 2000 will scan a brief, list all citations, and allow the user to edit, add and delete elements. Using the new "Shepard's Citations Service," the product allows researchers to: review reports that identify cases requiring further validation; customize options; and, obtain side-by-side comparisons between their quotations and the original cited document.
