West Group (Eagan, MN) and Northern Light Technology (Cambridge, MA), an Internet search engine, have reached an agreement to create "the most comprehensive, accurate and organized legal Web search engine in the world," the companies said. The proposed search engine will give professionals access to over 13,000 Westlaw legal databases and Northern Light's Web database of over 220 million Web pages.
West's databases range from statutes, case law and regulations in all 50 states to The Wall Street Journal and legal encyclopedias. A pilot site is expected to be launched presently with availability to all Westlaw customers later this year.
