Range of financial services is to be launched as part of French digital satellite platform TPS in 'spring 1998'. Services, claimed as world first, include financial and stock exchange listings (in conjunction with newspaper Les Echos), share dealing service (through Vega Finance) and personal banking (with Credit Agricole).
Services will be accessed using existing TPS remote control, and no additional equipment will be required. Basic information services will be available at no extra cost to subscribers of TPS (France; 33/1/41 33 88 00; www.tps.fr/), while clients using services of Vega Finance will be charged in accordance with existing Internet and other electronic tariffs. Personal banking will initially be made available to 1m clients of two major branches...
