Operators ready for European mobile Internet.(Brief Article)

Efforts to gain quick entry to European mobile market are gathering pace, with three high-profile projects recently launched.

* Dutch mobile operator KPN Mobile is to launch pan-European mobile Internet portal in a joint venture with Japanese partner NTT DoCoMo and Italian mobile operator Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM). Deal will bring NTT DoCoMo's HTML-based i-Mode Internet access service to Europe where it will compete with other services based on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). Portal will initially reach users in Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium.
