The leading advisor to the wealthy on financial, tax, and business issues, Saffrey Champness, chartered accountants, reports out of London that it has unveiled insights into one of the last great taboos: what the wealthy really think as they bequeath, or inherit, their wealth.

Entitled "The Succession Project," Saffrey Champness's research lays bare some of the innermost fears and hopes of the wealthy at critical life-time moments, and points to a profusion of different values and practices, sometimes leading to profound tensions, against the backdrop of a changing society.

The research involved polling more than 1,000 affluent individuals as a prelude to market researcher, Spada, conducting confidential discussions with more than 40 of the country's wealthiest individuals. The views of the closest professional advisors to thousands more wealthy families were also sought and the report's overall findings were validated by a specially constituted editorial board. ...
