Interoperability Group Formed
- Seven of the most active e-marketplace operators have come together to form the Global Interoperability Group, or CIG, a network of horizontal marketplaces within the Global Trading Web Association (GTWA) that will move e- commerce transactions around the world. Sandy Kemper, founder and chief executive of eScout, said the formation of CIG "marks a significant breakthrough for organizations trading internationally. Through the GIG partners, companies in each of the marketplaces will be able to transact online with trading partners worldwide-using one consistent business contract-and be assured of compatibility regardless of the software platforms being used."
