Cap gemini ernst & young is targeting the captive auto-finance market with a product designed to help it contain technology costs.

The captive auto loan industry has posed a growing threat to financial institutions over the past few years, but has also struggled after a wave of spending on computer networks and servers. That makes cutting IT costs a vital issue in a slow economy that insists on lower costs.

CGE&Y's product is dubbed Open Framework for Leasing, and it claims to help preserve an existing patchwork of computer systems specifically for manufacturers with finance divisions.
