Misys's e-Trade Finance Product Promises Efficiency

Misys has huge hopes for its product, e-Trade, which promises to help global banks transfer trade finance systems and operations management to a single point of control. Consolidation to this hub eliminates costly form duplication and streamlines business processes.

This fall, Oman-based Bank Muscat launched e-Trade, the Web-based version of Trade Innovation, for an on-line trade finance service built on Misys technology. Initially 20 clients registered for the pilot program, which Musallam Al-Shukairy, assistant general manager of the bank's trade finance and overseas credit department, says "demonstrates the huge demand in the region for such services." The program will be rolled out in January to the balance of the bank's 600 clients.
