CHECK FRAUD'S UP; CARD FRAUD'S LOW

The 2007 payments fraud survey from the Association for Financial Professionals reports that more organizations (72 percent) reported check fraud activity than its previous survey (68 percent), despite declining check volumes. Another note: While the fraudulent use of stored value cards was only 11 percent, 33 percent of companies said that fraudulent credit/debit cards and checks were used to purchase prepaid plastic currency.
