Companies worried about a talent or labor shortage can breathe a small sigh of relief ... or can they?
Research by CareerBuilder.com found that 22% of employers will rehire retirees from other companies in 2008, while 14% plan on offering incentives to keep older workers. According to the survey, 51% of workers will retire after age 65, with 16% retiring after age 70.
"While some mature workers are expressing an interest in postponing retirement, there's still a large number of this critical segment of workers who will be leaving their current jobs in the next decade," says Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder.com.
