Michael S. Appelbaum, who has more than 1,000 accounts and more than $500 million in assets under supervision, has joined Bear Stearns & Co. in New York with his associate of the past 13 years, Eugene Ross. They come from Morgan Stanley, where they worked for three years, and before that, PaineWebber. Appelbaum began at Merrill Lynch in 1990.

Peter H. Wagner, one of CIBC Oppenheimer's top producers with $2.5 million in production and $250 million in assets, has gone to UBS PaineWebber's headquarters branch in New York. Wagner reportedly joined the largest-producing team at the firm. He had been at Oppenheimer since 1981.

Carlos Burns and Jane Fincher, partners at Credit Suisse First Boston in Miami, have joined CIBC Oppenheimer in Coconut Grove. Burns had a trailing...
