Customer Gripes at BofA Online Banking

To the Editor:

Bank of America has undergone a massive public relations campaign to alert the press about its online banking services - so you

might be surprised to learn that BofA does not offer free online banking to many customers! In Oregon, customers must pay $5.95 per month to access their accounts online. Even then, customers must download special software, like Quicken Money, which often is slow and does not work. I do not know of any other major bank that does not offer free online banking. I have a separate account with Wells Fargo and I can view my balances online and perform a number of transactions, all at no charge.

Oregon customers - and perhaps customers in other states - cannot even access their balance online without paying the hefty...
