It was a 100-year old agency that lately dreamed up Yetis to personify out-of-control lenders for Capital One. It was the brains behind Charmin's Mr. Whipple It's been rolled by Publicis Groupe.

D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles-famous for the rosy-cheeked Santa in vintage Coca-Cola ads and Budweiser's frogs-will soon be subsumed into the huge holding company's other agencies.

D'Arcy clients are getting divvied up among Leo Burnett, Fallon Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis Worldwide. Capital One goes to the latter. Rumors swirl among industry insiders that Capital One-among others-is chafing and may ask for a review.

Spokeswoman Pam Girardo says Capital One's interested in vetting its new agency and nothing more.

Publicis would not return calls...
