E-Mortgages: Not For Everyone, But The 'I Want It Now' Generation Will Demand It

The "I-want-it-now" generation is nudging more credit unions toward electronic mortgages, and the financial institutions wanting to stay ahead of the curve are e-nabling their mortgage business, a group of NASCUS and credit union officials were told last week.

"E-lending isn't for everyone, but for the new 'I want it now' generation, it's the way to go," said Jason Abramavicius, e-Business Development executive of the CUNA Mutual Group. Abramavicius spoke to the group during a three-day seminar that focused on emerging risks in the credit union industry. The seminar, "Assessing Emerging Risks," was co-sponsored by NASCUS and the CUNA Mutual Group and covered such topics as privacy, identity theft, biometrics and security and employee dishonesty.
