A high-ranking NCUA source has confirmed an item first reported by The Credit Union Journal, that Gigi Hyland of Empire Corporate FCU and former counsel at the Association of Corporate CUs and CUNA is to be nominated for the NCUA board seat currently held by Debbie Matz.
The source indicated that background checks are currently being performed on Hyland.
In addition, the Senate Banking Committee is also expected to hold hearings for Rodney Hood, who has already been nominated for the three-member board, as soon as Congress returns from recess.
