National Australia Bank To Support Large Indigenous-Owned Institution

National Australia Bank Ltd. (NAB) said it will extend a offer a $1 million, interest-free loan to help underwrite the building of credit union branches to serve indigenous populations in this country’s Australia’s Northern Territory.

In addition, the bank said it will be providing additional financial and in-kind support over the next five years to the Traditional Credit Union, the largest indigenous-owned and operated financial institution in Australia. It is anticipated the bank’s funding will help expand TCU’s precense in the state by 40%.
