IRL announces 2005 pre-season test dates.

Continuing the testing rules introduced in 2004, Indy Racing League drivers and teams will participate in four Open Tests during the 2005 season, league officials announced.

Open Tests for IRL teams begin with the preseason tests at Homestead-Miami Speedway (January 18th-22nd) and Phoenix International Raceway (February 4th-6th).

The IRL IndyCar Series and the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series will practice on both the 1.5-mile oval and 2.21-mile road course at Homestead. Oval testing will take place on January 18th-19th, while road-course testing will occur January 20th-22nd. The Menards Infiniti Pro Series will practice on the first day of each scheduled test.
