Hurry is Hammers' captain.

Now that the Hammers line-up is complete for the forthcoming Sky Sports Elite League Speedway season the next job for Co-Promoter Jon Cook was to decide on who would become the captain of the side.

After much discussion the job has been given to Kent based Paul Hurry. This will be Hurry's eighth season in the Hammers colours and will see him start a campaign fitter than he has been for some time.

The hard riding Hurry was delighted to accept the captaincy stating: "This season sees the start of a new era at our Arena Essex Raceway and I am delighted to be part of it. To have been offered the captaincy is the icing on the cake. I believe that I can do a good job and I can't wait for the season to get started.
