Cupra Championship racer killed in road accident.

Tim Bevan, a racer in the SEAT Cupra Championship, has been killed in a road accident ahead of this weekend's race meeting at Brands Hatch.

The 31-year-old, who wasn't due to compete in the latest rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship support series, lost his life in the accident on Thursday evening, robbing the SEAT paddock of one of its most popular figures.

"Tim's flamboyant character made him stand out," a statement issued by SEAT Sport UK read. "The 31-year old from Water Orton in Birmingham ran under the WAAP Racing banner - which tongue-in-cheek stood for Wing And A Prayer Racing - and he regularly changed the colour scheme of his SEAT Leon Cupra R.
