Tander gives Holden advantage.
Crash.Net, March, 2008
Garth Tander led from start-to-finish to give Holden the opening honours in the V8 Supercar Manufacturers' Challenge at Albert Park.
The Toll HRT man secured pole for the red side with a fine lap in the top-ten shootout, and then led from start to finish in the opening race, which was called to a finish after 13 of the scheduled 15 laps.
A melee between leading Ford drivers Craig Lowndes and Steven Richards gave Tander a lead of more than four seconds at the end of lap one and he was never headed, breaking away after a late Safety Car period to take the win ahead of Will Davison.
