Punctures hit Shedden challenge.

Gordon Shedden admits he was mystified by the tyre failures that blighted his weekend at Thruxton during the latest rounds of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The Team Halfords driver was confident of a good weekend at the fastest circuit on the calendar with the Honda Civic having proven itself to be a potent force around the Hampshire venue last season and qualified on the second row of the grid for race one.

A fine start saw him leading by the time the field streamed into the complex for the first time and the Scot looked comfortable out front ahead of Tom Onslow-Cole before a puncture at Church dropped him out of contention at the half way point.

Having battled through the field into the points in race two, Shedden was rewarded with a place on the front row for race two under the reverse grid and ...
