Luhr, Werner lose third place Q effort.

Team Audi Sport North Amercia's Lucas Luhr and Marco Werner have lost their third place on the grid and the LMP1 pole after Luhr's fastest qualifying time was disallowed.

Luhr and Werner will now start ninth in Saturday's Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, the fifth round in the 2008 American Le Mans Series.

The 1.5 mile track has been modified this year and two new chicanes caused numerous red flags during the two free practice sessions making a proper set-up work almost impossible. Qualifying then turned into, what Werner branded, a lottery, when boundary elements on the kerbs disintegrated and allowed the racing line further and further off the track in the chicanes. As a consequence, various lap-times were disallowed for cutting.
