Three people, including a 61-year-old woman, were wiped out by gunfire within a six-hour period from Monday to early yesterday as the city's homicide rate continues to climb.
Geraldine Watts, of Salford Street near Greenway Avenue, in Kingsessing, was killed by a stray bullet late Monday night, police said.
About 2 a.m. yesterday, an unidentified man in his 30s was found shot multiple times on Kensington Avenue near Lehigh. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital. Shell casings from a 9 mm gun were found at the scene.
