3 dead in 6-hour span

Three people, including a 61-year-old woman, were wiped out by gunfire within a six-hour period from Monday to early yesterday as the city's homicide rate continues to climb.

Geraldine Watts, of Salford Street near Greenway Avenue, in Kingsessing, was killed by a stray bullet late Monday night, police said.

About 2 a.m. yesterday, an unidentified man in his 30s was found shot multiple times on Kensington Avenue near Lehigh. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital. Shell casings from a 9 mm gun were found at the scene.

Less than two hours later, Marcus Ginn, 36, was found shot outside Paschall Homes in Southwest Philadelphia. Ginn was shot in the neck and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at...
