Flames' McCarty files for bankruptcy

Calgary Flames right winger Darren McCarty has filed for bankruptcy, which his lawyer said was brought on - in part - by loss of revenue from last season's lockout.
McCarty listed debts of $6.2 million - including at least $185,000 owed to casinos in Las Vegas and Detroit - and assets of $1.9 million.
In his first public comments, McCarty, who played for the Red Wings last season, told reporters in Calgary that it was "something I have been dealing with for the past year."
McCarty wanted to make it clear that he did not bet on hockey.
"I want everybody to know... not one cent or iota was any type of sports betting," he said.
