Andy Ward thanked his parents, sisters, coaches, teammates... and perhaps should have included his own inner drive.
A guy can be prodded and encouraged, but if there's never a spark, there's no chance for a fire.
Over his 4 years at Monsignor Bonner High, Ward has blossomed from a probably-won't to a definitely-did and now he's going out as a contributing champion. And that adjective is very important.
Though of course the overall experience was fun, last May he played no role in the scoring as the Friars captured the Catholic League track championship. Ah, but that was far from the case yesterday in a repeat performance at Widener University.
