Fumo: 'I'm not afraid' of DoDo

State Sen. Vincent Fumo was fuming yesterday about testimony by Eli Karetny, a defendant now on the witness stand in Common Pleas Court testifying about the May 18, 2000, collapse of Pier 34. Karetny's account of a 1996 meeting between Fumo and Dorrance "DoDo" Hamilton, one of Forbes' 400's richest Americans, about moving the ship Moshulu to Philadelphia, "could not be further from the truth," Fumo said.
Karetny, 65, and Michael Asbell, 64, are charged with risking a catastrophe, three counts of involuntary manslaughter, 43 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and related charges in connection with the collapse that killed three women and injured 43 others.
