Trio flee after robbing Willow Grove bank

Three men are wanted after robbing a bank in Willow Grove yesterday afternoon. The robbers entered the Sovereign Bank on York Road near Cherry Street shortly before 2 p.m. and began yelling obscenities and threatening tellers, authorities said. One robber then displayed a handgun and demanded to be taken to the vault.

The bank's security system would not allow employees to open the vault, officials said. The robbers then ordered the tellers to empty their cash drawers. No customers were present, but when the robbers saw a customer approaching the bank, they fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, officials said.
