The message of anti-violence will soon have a new tune, thanks to the efforts of Philadelphia-area rappers. Some of the hottest local rappers have produced a single and an accompanying video to bring a fresh approach to the anti-violence message and allow them to reach young rap fans. The project was announced yesterday at a news conference in City Hall attended by City Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller and a representative from the Greater Philadelphia Film Office.
The video will be shot throughout Philadelphia next month. "We are committed to stopping the violence, and we will do all we can" to support this effort, said film office executive director Sharon Pinkenson.
