LUTE OLSON REITERATED his stance that he doesn't like postseason conference tournaments. And if the selection committee is listening, he just made an argument for Drexel.
It's Olson's opinion that conference tournaments diminish the value of playing a difficult slate during the regular season; which is
exactly where the folks at 33rd & Market are hanging their collective hats.
"People talk about the
importance of schedule and playing the tough teams,
playing tough teams in
neutral sites, playing tough teams on the road, and yet I am not sure that a whole lot of the analysts ever take a look at that," the University of Arizona coach said the other day.
