Phils' Gordon says Imus deserves brushback, but not ejection

NEW YORK - When he was the Yankees' setup man, Tom "Flash" Gordon enjoyed listening to Don Imus' radio show on WFAN (660-AM), the local sports-talk station.
"I've even enjoyed some of the stuff that was being talked about," said Gordon, who played for the Yankees in 2004 and '05. "I'll drive in, listen to his show. My family will ask me, 'Why are you listening to that?' I've even watched it."
Gordon, 39, continued to listen and watch on MSNBC when he became the Phillies' closer last year. He appreciated both Imus' nonpartisan candor and his subject matter, which seldom dealt with sports.
Gordon, who is black, certainly did not appreciate Imus' characterization of the members of the Rutgers women's basketball...
