It was hard to tell who was spoiling whom in the relationship of William N. Brown III and his granddaughter, Chyna Byna.
"'Pop-Pop,' as he was affectionately called by his precious and only grandchild, treasured every opportunity to spoil her," his family wrote in his obituary.
"She in turn would phone for daily 'love chats,' in which she believed she was spoiling him."
It didn't much matter who was spoiling whom, William took every opportunity to be with the child "because she brought joy to his life," his family said.
William Brown, a retired electrician for the DuPont Co. and an Air Force veteran, died of a heart attack Dec. 28. He was 58 and lived in West Oak Lane.
He was born in Philadelphia the third of the five children of William N. Brown Jr....
