Prospal trade boosts Flyers in NHL playoff hunt

With the trade deadline and the protracted losing streak over, the Flyers are a happy bunch again, eager to get on with the rest of the season.

Even after yesterday's practice had ended and John Stevens had addressed the players at center ice, no one left for another 20 minutes. They stayed out to shoot pucks, play games and joke around.

It was a scene not seen from this group in weeks.

"I thought it was a good day," said forward Daniel Briere. "I have a good feeling now, a feeling that we're turning things around and going in the right direction again.

"It was a day where guys had a lot of jump and a little extra in their step and the passing was crisp. I think the guys are excited, first of all with the win the other night, the trade deadline passing,...
