IN HIS RECENT op-ed, Minister Rodney Muhammad feigns bewilderment over the charge, by the Southern Poverty Law Center and others, that the Nation of Islam is a hate group.
In the spirit of Hamas and other such organizations who emphasize their "social welfare component" while hoping the public will ignore the dark side of their agenda, he notes the group's efforts to feed and gather clothes for the homeless and visit those in shelters, prisons and hospitals.
Under the guidance of Louis Farrakhan, the NOI has expressed anti-Semitic and racist rhetoric for nearly 30 years.
