In previous issues, we inducted some 50 largely non-profit organizations into our Budget Travel Hall of Fame and asked readers to support those selfless firms. Now, in this October 2002 issue, we pay tribute to outstanding (even if profit-making) "packagers" that have reliably and consistently served the needs of frugal tourists for many years. We limited ourselves to commercial tour companies and excluded airlines, cruise lines, and the like, however budget-worthy their products may be. We hope you clip and save our invaluable pantheon of 100 creators, which sell very low-cost packages either of the "air-and-land" or the "land-only" variety. For ease of use, we have grouped the honorees according to the primary destinations they serve.
