I'm flying to Paris, changing planes in Madrid. Can I get off in Madrid and just make my way overland? Would I still be able to catch the return flight from Paris? -Jonathan Isbell, St. Louis, Mo
Probably not. Although this tactic might save you money over a legal open-jaw flight (into Madrid, out of Paris), it's against airline rules. If the airline catches you-and it will, since you're doing this on the outbound leg-it can cancel your return ticket with no refund.
